We are about to depart for Australia and our three months of work there.
A highlight for me this past July was a study pilgrimage tour of the holy places of St. Francis and St. Clare inRrome and Assisi.
It was a test for my two new prosthetic hips and one I passed with flying colors. All in all in the three weeks there, I would have walked 70 miles and mostly on hilly terrain. One of the other sisters was wearing a pedometer….so I could gauge from that!
I came away, once again, so impressed by the fact that Francis and Clare remain relevant in our modern day as we try to face church and cultural challenges to the Gospel of Jesus — similar to those faced by the people of the Middle Ages.
